Local Chorus
Local news from local sources, compared across outlets and translated into your language.

Local Chorus reads local outlets in six countries in their own language: Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, the United States and the UAE. Reports about the same event are grouped together, and each event becomes one neutral story with every claim tied to the outlets that made it. You read it in English, Russian or Spanish.
A story page shows what several sources confirm, what is still unclear, and how official, business and tech media each framed it. Six signals sit beside it: reliability, promotional, sensational, mood, novelty and reach. Reliability is computed from the sources, not scored by the model. The list filters by country, topic and time, a news-day dial shows each country's day on its local clock, and search works by meaning in any language.
Phoenix LiveView on one server. Oban polls each country's feeds every few minutes, articles are clustered by word overlap and by embeddings in pgvector, and DeepSeek writes the story as structured JSON. Code then drops any fact without a citation and demotes anything only one outlet reported. Translation touches keyed strings only, so citations never pass through the model. A story costs about $0.002 to write.
